Oprah Winfrey 'ambushed' by man who claims to be her 'secret son' outside the Late Show
Media mogul Oprah Winfrey was confronted by a man claiming to be her secret son outside of the Late Show in New York, earlier this month.
In pictures taken outside the Ed Sullivan theatre, a startled Winfrey can be seen in an awkward encounter with Calvin Mitchell, who has claimed to have been raised by the presenter, before they became estranged 20 years ago. The awkward moment took place after an interview with Stephen Colbert on October 15.
The star can be seen acknowledging the now truck-driver's presence, putting her hand on his chest as he attempted to engage her in conversation.
It is unknown whether the incident was unwelcomed by Oprah, but according to reports she did talk to the 35-year-old.
The Daily Mail have reported that the run-in had been organised by the National Enquirer, with Mitchell keen to mend his twenty-year rift with Winfrey.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but it was the only way to get in touch with you," Mitchell reportedly told the star outside the studio, referring to a recent interview where he discussed their relationship.
