According to a survey, that tracked when men and women walked down the aisle for the first time, women waited until about 27 to tie the knot back in 2010.
That is pretty is old when you look back at the ‘50s when girls were jumping into wedded bliss before they could legally buy a drink. Today, women are waiting longer and longer due to wanting more out of life than the traditional “white picket fence.”
But, for Valdemira Rodrigues de Oliveira, she was just waiting for the one! And it only took her 106 years to find him.
That’s right Valdemira, who goes by Valda, spent over 100 years of her life never married and without children. That was until she found herself in a nursing home a few years ago alongside Aparecido Dias Jacob. He too had never had kids or been married. It seemed like a match made in heaven. They didn’t even see a problem with their age difference. Valda’s a bit of a cougar in this situation because Aparecido is 40 years her junior. Yup, he's a young 66-year-old!
For them, the age difference means nothing. Aparecido said that age is the furthest thing from his mind, he just fell in love with Valda. That’s that.
Valda disused their love to the The Daily Mail, saying, "I like him a lot. If he dies, I die too.” Okay, that definitely tugs at your heartstrings and makes you want to curl up into a ball and cry for hours on end!
Valda is not the only older bride that had our hearts overflowing recently. Remember Millie Taylor-Morrison? At 86, she made us all jealous as hell when she walked down the aisle last year in a chic lavender gown. Maybe her and Valda can somehow connect and have a double date one night!
Some of us are lucky enough to find love when we still have a lot of time left on earth, but at least Valda and her man can live out the rest of theirs knowing that they finally found that one person who makes them feel whole.
